We believe the Bible to be God’s Word, a true and fully accurate account of God’s love for us. Its purpose is to teach us how to have a relationship with Him, worship Him, and bring Him glory.

We believe the church is a family and that every believer should be identified with a local body of believers for the purpose of mutual encouragement, spiritual growth, and accountability.

We believe Water Baptism is a declaration to others that a person has believed on Jesus Christ for salvation. Baptism by immersion in water represents the person being crucified, buried, and resurrected with Jesus, and a testimony of the cleansing power of God and our faith into new life with Him.

We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers. It is separate from salvation. The Holy Spirit brings power to believers to be effective witnesses for Jesus, and He blesses us with spiritual gifts for the encouragement of others, and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit. This comes with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

Scriptural Support
Luke 24:49, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Acts 8:12-17, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 11:14-16

We believe Communion is intended for Jesus’ followers, by which they acknowledge and remember His work on the cross and our remembrance of Him.
Cornerstone Church extends an “open” Communion table, meaning the invitation to receive Communion during a service is open to any follower of Christ, regardless of church membership. People who have accepted His forgiveness and surrendered their lives to Him are invited to share the Communion table at Cornerstone Church.

We believe that God cares about every need of every person and that the church, as Christ’s body, is to show his love and care for every person. Every member of the church is called to be a minister of the gospel through acts of loving service and a willingness to share the truth of the gospel with everyone.

Cornerstone Church progressively lives out its mission to reveal Christ to the world by loving people, cultivating community, and inspiring hope. Some of the ways we demonstrate God’s love is through outreach. We help to Serve people through Cornerstone Community Care and Feeding Fresno.

WE CELEBRATE

The church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations—baptizing and teaching them to love and obey God.

Baby Dedication

Baby Dedication is a ceremony in which Christian parents (and sometimes entire families) stand before the church and make a commitment to raise their child(ren) according to the Word of God. Christian parents who dedicate their child(ren) are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child(ren) in a godly way until he/she/they can make a decision for themselves.

Marriage

God established monogamous marriage between a male and female as the foundation of the family, and as an example of the spiritual marriage with Jesus as the groom, and His church as His bride.
